About us

We started out as NZ Inspection Rentals Ltd, a specialist protective coatings and corrosion testing equipment rental business located in New Plymouth, New Zealand. NZIR was formed in May 2004 to service the major petrochemical industries, relating primarily to the corrosion, industrial painting and lining services.

In 2009 we added full time protective coating and corrosion management services. With the addition of a senior management Team and a focus on sustainable growth the business has grown significantly but still holds its core values at heart. NZCS has recently implemented a digitisation project of its business operations to improve effciency, support the growth strategy and improve service. In July 2022 NZCS achieved a Totika Cat 3 (High Risk) Qualify365 HSE Pre-qualification Performing status, which is recognised across NZ Industry.

2021 we ceased renting our equipment due to a rapid growth in our inspection and corrosion management projects, we needed all our test equipment for our own use.

Our in-house test equipment includes;

Electronic and mechanical paint film thickness measuring instruments suitable for both intrinsically safe areas and for multiple batching of complete projects which may be downloaded to spreadsheets and/or data bases. Thicknesses from 0 – 30mm. Ultrasonic plate thickness measuring equipment, paint adhesion testing, ambient condition monitoring data loggers, high voltage porosity detectors, Schmidt Hammers, Chloride monitoring equipment and much more.
